Self-love and love to the brothers

Ladies are so confusing, we're beginning to confuse me sef. One minute we claim to be independent and strong. We don't want to be seen as sex objects but as individuals with intelligence and wisdom equal to that of men, besides, what a man can do, a woman can do better. And then we switch on the T.V. to see us shaking our behinds to very degrading songs. Majority of our songs hail illegally gotten money, drugs, alcohol and us, women. A guy that claims to respect the female members of his family and females generally won't churn out such ridiculousness. Why are you singing about our body parts and the stupid things you want to do with us. What decent man does that? Aren't you ashamed? More distasteful are the ones that go further to insult our faith. Aje butter's omo pastor, Steelz' bebe idi alhaja, jump and pass (Terry G was in the attire of white garment churches in the video, I think. I also do not find comedians in this attire funny, it's very disrespectful). Maybe I can make a video with naked men and sing about their body parts. Who wants to do a collabo with me?
What is the job of a video vixien? Have a sex appeal and shake her butt while the artiste sings ileke idi, ibebe idi, ko maa gbon, ko maa gbon, ko maa gbon? That sounds like an unfortunate job and for how much again? I need to be enlightened. Take a cue from Kaffy, she is a dancer, inspiring and empowering people. We don't see her shaking shaking up and down. Female artistes, our supposed celebrities, who should know better and be role models sadly do not know better. There is a video and pictures of a singer embarrassing the female folk. I've not seen the video but the pictures are very tacky and distasteful. We know she is dressed in a suit that makes her look naked. It would do her more good to give her hubby the very sexual performance instead of giving us the "free" soft porn. Her defence is that it's for viewers aged 18+. An evil irresponsible man, who has no control over his body, gets charged seeing such and goes ahead to abuse a baby, an old woman or a lady who is properly dressed and one wonders what the attraction was. I am not trying to explain rape, rape is certainly unacceptable regardless of whatever excuse the rapist puts forward. She also says she is trying to make international standards and yes, that's a big leap in that direction. We indeed have seen worse, we weren't however expecting this hence the outcry by her fans on social networks and blogs. That's our Maheeda's department, right? This definitely isn't just a Nigerian thing, the oyinbo counterparts have phd degrees, they don't carry any course in this field at all.
If we really want to be regarded as intellectuals who run the world, we need to know our worth, respect ourselves, treat ourselves the way we want to be treated and stop being so cheap. I'm not sorry if my opinion offends you, that's why it's my blog. I can't be right though that's why there is a comment section and I ask what you think. I'll conclude with a quote from Open Heavens daily devotional guide.
Love is not self-centred. It cares for others. Do you love your brethren and care for them? One way to demonstrate that you care for your brethren as a lady is through modest dressing. One who really loves does not dress to kill. She is dressed to save. Christians who wear indecent clothes cannot be said to love their brethren.
Thanks for reading my rant, what do you think?

Fulfiling all righteousness - to what end?

I feel a little guilty for having a good laugh because I should not judge. I just remembered a pretty lady I met last week. She was wearing a really short sleeveless dress. I didn't raise an eyebrow at that, na today? I've seen shorter dresses. What caught my attention was that she made sure her scarf was properly covering her head especially before taking photos. I was tempted to ask which of the denominations she belonged to. I did ask if she was covering her hair for religious reasons as her hair was nice and neat, she said yes. I made sure I kept my mouth firmly shut afterwards.
She was the only one that covered her hair and yet she was the only one that struck me as silly. If you want to form Mary Amaka shouldn't you start by covering your body the temple of God first? Why are you covering your hair and showing us your lovely thighs, legs and a peek of your bosom? Obviously, she was just trying to fulfil all righteousness, "you asked me to cover my hair and I have", but to what end?
Shout out to the babes who look classy and sophisticated while all covered up, you inspire me. My darling Fs in Abuja, I wish you would put up on your pictures everyday so we can take a cue from you.
I see your views, thanks guys. Drop comments too :*

For the love of aso-ebi

So someone messaged me "Hi Anu, you tweeted about aso-ebi the other day. Can you talk about that"? Yes I would talk about it but nobody should take offence o.

What can separate a Nigerian girl from the owambe behaviour. She likes to buy aso-ebi, makes the nicest style and dresses all up especially with the instagram craze. The degree of feferity in each girl however differs. Some of us after buying the materials + gele, would buy matching shoes, purse, jewellery and get an artiste for our makeup and gele. Don't forget we still contribute for the bridal shower and have our "spraying" money handy for the reception. That could cost around 50k besides transport fare, feeding and accommodation for those coming from outside town. Now you know why most people don't get wedding gifts for the couple.
I think aso-ebi is cool and I, like many other ladies, would buy even if we won't attend to show love and to avoid being tagged as haters. It's the season of weddings in my age group. Great, yea? That however comes with loads of aso-ebi which we complain about but we still end up making the same mistakes we complain about when it's our turn. These complaints are usually related to the price and choice of materials. I think it's very silly and inconsiderate to pick materials your guests would not be able to wear again just because it will make your fairytale wedding "fairer" or you want them to look a certain way, that's the definition of selfish. Everyone has something to do with their money, buying your material is an honour to you which you should appreciate and ensure they would not regret getting it. How and where is one supposed to wear aso-oke gele, french lace blouse and short aso-oke wrapper after the ceremony?

I should have been a professional bridesmaid. I've been on so many trains and, would still love to be on one or two more. Sadly i've been able to "rerock" only two of the outfits.
To whoever it may concern: Dear Sister Js, I better be a CBM to one of you. Your lovely baby sister, xoxo.
I'm of the opinion that not only should bridesmaids' dresses be useful in their closets, it should be absolutely free. It's such a big honour to you that one agreed to be on your train, one could decline, you know? In my year 3 in University, a friend was asked to be on a "big girl's" train. The dress was 25k and the very inconsiderate bride asked her to get a particular colour of shoes, purse, jewellery and brazilian hair. I felt offended on my friend's behalf. She had these items at home but I felt it was really funny in an annoying way. If you can't afford to cloth your maids, at least give them something they would love at a reasonable fee and involve them in the style selection. Don't add the money for our meals, drinks and souvenirs to your maids' or aso-ebi packages.
A special shoutout to babes picking 90k aso-ebi and to everyone who has been reading (and commenting). If you have a topic you want me to put up, holla tarabauer01@gmail.com

Pastor and Pastor (Mrs)

There has been a lot of debate on whether a woman becomes automatically anointed upon marrying a pastor. A wife is an help mate fit for her husband. Who else can efficiently help a pastor than his wife? Now i'm just being logical but logic doesn't always make sense in our faith. I feel that the anointing and grace to be a pastor can not be maritally transferred, she should have her own personal gift or calling to pastor a church or to assist her husband in his ministry as a co-pastor (Ephesians 4:11). The 1st Timothy passages point to one direction, a woman can not be a pastor or a deacon but we see later that Phoebe was a deacon.

Can an unmarried man (or woman) pastor a church? 1st Cor 14:2
Can a pastor who divorces his/her spouse or has unruly children continue pastoring a church? 14:4

I'm sorry about the long passage. Kindly read through and share your opinion. Thank you. xoxo

1The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.2Therefore an overseera must be above reproach, the husband of one wifesober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, 5for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? 6He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil. 8Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued,c not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. 9They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. 11Their wives likewise mustd be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. 12Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. 1st Timothy 3.

34Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. 1st Corinthians 14

12I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;b she must be quiet. 1st Timothy 2:14

1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a deacon in the church in Cenchrea. Romans 16:1

E-Gossip

Avoid pointless discussions. People who (pay attention to these pointless discussions) will become more ungodly. 2nd Timothy 2:16

There are so many addictive gossip blogs and tabloids around us. I have 4 of such blogs added to my phone's home screen. Some of them carry the latest news around the world but majority of their posts are all vanity which we love. Who is wearing what, who is dating who, who is cheating on her spouse, who was spotted at some place, who is showing off what he has, who has the best bikini body, which governor is lavishing money on an actress... Are these not the pointless discussions in the 2nd Timothy verse? Some of us are not discussing or actively slandering or opening yanshes but we also become more ungodly by following these pointless discussions. The closest many of us have been, to Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Toyin Lawani, Uti, Genevieve, Tope Alabi and the like, is on our Tv screens and on the pages of the tabloids but if we table their matter ehn you would think we went to nursery school with them. Celebrities and objects of blog posts are often bullied to the point of depression with some going ahead to commit suicide all thanks to us. We are so quick to judge. Many of us seem to forget that there are no bigger or lesser sins.

Am I being paranoid and it's not that serious? What do you think? *E-hugs*
