He is like a brother, we literally grew up together. Tade is my friend, nothing can happen. So is it someone that is like a stranger you want to be with? After a few months or years, you'll not let us hear word about how your partner is like your brother, friend, ancestor.. So why can't someone you know is like that be auditioned? I saw a movie where a heartbroken lady was telling her friend, who had been trying to get her attention for so long, how he was her dream man. The guy was so happy thinking "finally". Only for the lady to say "not you dummy, you're my friend". I really think this zoning thing is silly. You'll be looking for what you have in your sokoto in Sokoto. I agree that when one gets into a relationship with a friend and there is a break up, you two may not be so chummy anymore. More reason why you shouldn't get into a relationship without due consideration. But really, shouldn't you be friends first before you take it to the next level? I'm not saying you should start catching feelings for that your hot childhood friend. I'm saying if she is your kind of girl, refuse to be zoned. If you think you two being together will "make the world a better place", you better say no to the zone. Thanks to our society, a zoned sister can't do much but to watch, pray and drop hints.
A friend is very close to one of her family friends. They hang out a lot after work. He spends time at her place over the weekend. She volunteers to do stuffs, she wouldn't do for others, for him. He does same for her. Her mom loves him, his mom loves her. They obviously really like each other but have refused to see it and are forming brother and sister. An outsider would think they are dating. The guy is planning his wedding to another babe and she is helping out. She doesn't feel bad because she has refused to see what the rest of us see or maybe she cries in her closet.
A babe fell in love with someone that was meant to be her big brother. She made the first seemingly innocent move and the sharp guy took it from there. She would drop everything to talk to him all day. She was planning to leave her boyfriend when the guy hurt her on the premise of "we should be brother and sister, your mom wouldn't approve". After some weeks of intense friendship, they were back to brother and sister. She would even be there for him when his new catch was misbehaving. LOL! What now? He is married to "the new catch" and wants her attention. Whether he wishes he married her or just fooling around, I don't know. What I know is they lost each other to the zone.
What I am trying to say is that if a diamond is right in front of you, don't lose it. You may end up with plastic. xoxo
*sokoto = trouser
Sokoto = Sokoto state
Lol = laugh out loud

DeleteBeen reading all posts until this one. I just had to drop a comment though I'm almost late for church. The thing about zoning is they often cry in their closets (girls especially). Then again, like the example you gave above. Can they be tagged "friends with benefits" or that can only be applicable to those who have a sexual relationship involved and yet would always claim "no strings attached? ".
ReplyDeleteNo, friends with benefits is a different ball game. Maybe the photo isn't apt but you see some people, you think they are in love, only to hear "just friends"
DeleteI guess we can all learn from this. makes sense.
