I'm unmarried and pregnant, so what?

Why does your body shiver and your head hurt so much? Why have you lost sleep and become a volunteer newscaster? She is a single mom, so what? When did being a parent become a crime? Fornication is the sin, parenthood is always, always, a blessing.

Someone gets pregnant and even the village hooker has an opinion. If you're not her partner, close family or friend, you are not entitled to any opinion but to be happy for her. You either be supportive or face your work. It's annoying when a non-virgin chucks mouth. As long as you're not a virgin, you could have been in her shoes. If you were not raped, you did the exact same thing she did, committed the same sin. So what were you saying again?

Some ladies after committing an abortion(s) or was "lucky enough" to suffer a miscarriage, will open their mouths and talk too. You better don't let God slap you across the face. You form "virginity" on your wedding day and curse out a single mom. Well done.

Some yeye moms will abort their daughters' pregnancies or hide them only to talk nonsense about another's daughter as if theirs' holy pass. God is watching you in 5D, sharp and clear. You committed more sin than the single mom. Mom A recently hurriedly married her daughter, who had a baby two weeks after the wedding, off. Mom B decided to keep her daughter, help her through child birth and be sure marriage is the next thing for her. Mom A visits Mom B asking why her daughter would embarrass Family B so. She suddenly forgot Mrs B was at her 8.5 months pregnant daughter's wedding a month earlier.

You're not pregnant out of wedlock, you don't even fornicate, but you steal, lie, are into yahoo, get drunk, gossip, etc... Some of us seem to have forgotten that there is no such thing as a bigger or lesser sin. Remember "For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you'll be judged" Matthew 7:2 + "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!" John 8:7b.

When people lambast single moms, I ask "Should she have have had an abortion?" If she commits an abortion and loses her womb, dies or has any other complications, we'll talk. She kept the baby and we still talk. What do we really want? I know there are some unmarried couples who deliberately have sex to make babies with no shame like they are married. Your talk is for another day.

I am in no way saying yes to fornication. I am saying two wrongs do not make a right. If you feel you are old enough to have sex, you should be old enough to face the consequences. Ask God, your family and friends to forgive you, do not attempt an abortion, love and cater to your child. Do not rush into marriage because you're pregnant. It's never too late to give the reins of our lives to God. People may not treat you well now but when the baby comes, they'll be supportive. Do not get pregnant while unmarried with the mind that you'll be supported. No matter the support you get, it is a shame both in the Christiandom and our traditions to be pregnant while unmarried.

Don't look down on, talk bad at/about an unmarried pregnant lady. She feels bad enough. If you can't reduce her troubles/worries, don't add to it. She is a very brave and good person to have realised her wrong and refusing to make another mistake by terminating it. Being unmarried and pregnant is not easy. It takes the grace of God. Do not encourage fornication but don't throw the baby away with the bath water.

My people, thanks for reading and the support. Tomorrow Eniwealth writes for us *dancing* You really don't want to miss it. Have a good day. Xoxo

  2. Sensitive topic. Great admonition. My Kettle of fish is to the Guys like me. its a tough experience for single mothers especially in Africa, but where are the single fathers that committed the "Crime". or did the single mother impregnate herself?? Just as the writer has said, fornication is not acceptable but if as a man u could not control your sexual appetite, enjoying all the "fruits" of the female body before marriage and it leads to pregnancy, you should be MAN enough to stand by her all the way. You should be responsible for her and your child, you should be ready to take all the shame that may come with it with her. For crying out loud, why should you abandon her to suffer alone and you move on with your life. Thats Gross irresponsiblity. A big shame to the men who act in such a manner.

We are the ones that will be disturbing the girl for sex as though our life depended on it and when "water has passed garri" we disappear into thin air leaving the poor girl to sort out herself.

May prayer is that god will help us as parents train our boys to to grow up into responsible men that will add value to our society not foolish men that just keep sharing sperm around for the fun of it.

I refuse to be biased and judgemental. I look at issues from both sides of the coin, form my conclusions and allow you do same. Hopefully we can put ourselves straight in love.
