Happy girls are the prettiest!!

Why do we let men or the society determine what's beautiful and what's not? Growing up, being an orobo was in. All of a sudden, it was team lepa, no thanks to size 0 models who have since been banned. Shout out to #teamlepa babes struggling to join the #teamthick bandwagon. I wish you the very best in your quest. Yes, thick is in! There is a thin line between thick and fat. Thick is basically fat but with a slim waist in comparison to the upper and lower body. You can't outrightly call some thick babes fat or slim, they are somewhere in between. If you don't have that naturally, look to your personal fitness trainer or your waist cinchers/trainers for that. Thank me later babes. Team thick or not, being overweight is unhealthy. Do not let this fad deceive you.
And then the thirst to be light skinned be leaving babes looking like zebras. Some actually do it very well and look really good but at the end of it, all we see is thirst. You don't have to be white like Lady Gaga or Monalisa Chinda to be beautiful. Does it even make sense to want to change your complexion to please or attract a very shallow man. A man that loves you doesn't care if you're light or dark skinned, slim or fat, educated or not, yes! If it's by physical appearance alone, a lot of us would be so single. Your partner should encourage you to be a better person, help you get back into school if you're not educated. Bleaching, losing weight, wearing skimpy clothes and (expensive) weaves or natural hair doesn't make you a better person. You should lose weight to be healthy and not because the society says you're not beautiful until you do so. It tells you your boobs or butt is too big, reduce it or it's too small, increase it. Who is the society to tell you what you should look like? Are you ready to do everything the society tells you? Have it toss you around? You deserve better!
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Adelle, Oprah, Kimora Lee-Simmons, Khloe Kardashian, Banke Meshida, Waje, Omawumi are not slim women but they are very beautiful and are doing very well for themselves. We pressured Jennifer Hudson to lose weight, she did and we blasted her for losing her beauty. Should she add weight again? Guiliana Rancic is a serious lepa and yet some people still yab her for being too skinny. Can we ever please "us"? Genevieve Nnaji, Tiwa Savage, Naomii Campbell, Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi, Lupita, Mo Abudu, Linda Ikeji are dark skinned and doing well. Agbani Darego even went ahead to win the Miss World crown. Paul Okoye, Tuface, Dr Sid, Tbillz, Fela Durotoye, Tunde Obe married dark skinned women. Chimamanda Adichie and Nse Ikpe-Etim proudly rock their natural hair and they are soooo beautiful. Remember Dakore Egbuson-Akande's locs? Dark skinned and proud? Good for you but please stop hating on light skinned girls, thank you. If a girl decides to bleach, use relaxer on her hair, have cosmetic surgery, wear expensive weaves, wear her natural hair, why does it hurt you so much that you have to throw dirt? She didn't like something and she did something about it. If that's what make her sleep at night, good for her. It shouldn't keep you up at night even if you think she is wrong.
Happy girls are the prettiest. It's easy to tell when a lady is happy and loves herself. It shows in the way she carries herself and we can't help but love them.

*Orobo = Fat = Princess (the comedian)
 Thick = Kim Kardashian
 Lepa = Skinny = Yvonne Nelson.   No insults intended.

  2. Nice piece Anu, be what you wanna be but for the right reason(s). Stay healthy & be happy.
    Many times we really don't hv control over how we look but we can very very happy by embracing the way we are/look, that way, we look even better. An example is Toolz, she's pretty but m guessing she'd give anything to drop a few pounds. However, she has grown to love her body so much so that people now see "big & curvy" as d new sexy.

I refuse to be biased and judgemental. I look at issues from both sides of the coin, form my conclusions and allow you do same. Hopefully we can put ourselves straight in love.
