A classmate was telling of how she was immediately drawn to a guy she met at a canteen. She noticed he also couldn't stop checking her out while he ate. For reasons unknown to me, she was pissed off that he didn't offer to pay for her meal, yet he tried to get her no as she left. According to her, it is a big sign of stinginess. I do understand that having a stingy partner is unpleasant but I don't see it as a signal that the guy is stingy. What if he doesn't have enough money on him? Even if he does, would he have a saving if he sorts the bills of every girl that catches his attention.
Wait, would you die if you offer to pay for his meal or cab fare? He also got your attention, right? Later you won't let us rest on social media "#selfmade #feminist #ipaymybills" #yimu. If you make it a condition precedent for men to foot your bills before they have an opportunity to know you, you're a "yahoo" girl not worth knowing. You also seem like a broken clock that will only say "give me, give me."
According to her, another sign of stinginess is him asking for your bbm pin or whatsapp no at your first meeting. It means he doesn't want to spend his money on airtime to call you. Theory of life. Well, I also will not give a stranger those but not because he didn't buy rice or amala for me.
I'm not a believer of this "I never chop" doctrine. I don't think I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill too. What do you think? Thanks for reading. Love, Anuoluwapo.

That kind of mentality is uncalled for. Why would you expect someone you only just met to pay for your meal? Who does that...
Anuoluwapo, if a man calls me, asks me in a date... maybe I would think he might pay for dinner ... but I would find out before hand and I wouldn't think he was stingy...
Hmmmnnn This is rather interesting... mehn any geh that is waiting for me to pay for food I'd on a lonnnnggg thing... biko, am I look like her father ni?! hehehhehehehe @ your hash tag.. lemme just say that I for one am drawn to a ghe that can stand her ground and pay my bill... once went to KFC with a bae...and after they were done... she brought out her card and paid... now that's class... sadly omolomo had to form big boy and pay her back... **crying in French...

She's wrong on all counts. That doesn't make him a stingy person. She should stop psycho-analyzing people biko.
I remember arriving at the airport with a friend I had just met on the plane and on arrival, those guys that force themselves on passengers insisting on helping with one's luggage were all over us. One particularly. I was very defiant cos I didn't want stories of missing luggage, your bill is 500k and so on, plus I had already paid for a cart and I could push it myself. But the guy was very insistent and new friend said I should let him push the cart. He ended up pushing for less than 3mins and when new friend was to pay him, I saw him pull out a fifty naira note. Of course carrier guy made his disappointment known while I pretended not to see what was happening, I picked my phone and was calling my cousin who was supposed to pick me up, keeping my eyes fixated on my luggage. I just know carrier guy walked away without collecting his money at the end of the day. I just figured he might not have enough naira on him as we had just landed. And offering to pay the guy might embarrass him as we had just met hours ago.
Next time we met, talk of bills! He paid nicely without checking the price tags or price list by the menu.
So, dear friend, no be by first encounter most times. Get to know people. You had your own money before going to eat didn't you? I personally prefer giving bbm pins to number(s) these days. You get to delete a jerk without trace in no time.
Anu, I'm not sorry, was an interesting post.
Aha! So any guy who doesn't pay for the meal I put in my belly is stingy?? Does she even know the meaning of the word? Goddamn! No words!
Hey mami!!
Lol. Lovely one Anu. I think the lady is not just a yahoo babe but also a gold digger. Some ladies these days lack orientation. Just as Barr. Anu said, why must it be the guy to pay? Some years ago when I was still a banker, I met one lovely female client. I was single then. Just as in the case of the above story, I guess we were drawn to each other. So usually she came often to the bank and we would chat. I got to know she was a student. Then one day she offered to take me out. I was shocked. For the first time in my life, a girl was offering to take me out. A student for that matter. I smiled and said you really want to take me out. I am a banker and u are a student. She saidit doesn't matter. However she has didn't have a car then so I picked her up but she piad the bills. We became good friends. Of course I picked up the bills subsequently. That's was splendid I guess. Most other ladies would be waiting for "Mr Banker" to do the needful first.
This post is hilarious. All these ladies out there that's how they are oo,I never chop kinda girl. Always casting all their burdens on a guy, lolz
